Sunday, the 8th of June 2008, in Iasi metropolitan Cathedral, His Beatitude the Patriarch Daniel, surrounded by members of Saint Sinod of Romanian Orthodox Church, officiated the Saint Mass and then followed the enthroning ceremony of His Holiness Teofan Savu, the new Bishop of Moldavia and Bucovina.

     Prince Paul and Princess Lia of Romania have been invited at this event, along with representatives of local and central authorities, the President of our Country Mr. Traian Basescu, Prince Dimitrie Sturdza, personalities of the Romanian public life, priests, monarchs and believers from our country and foreign.  

  Metropolitan Cathedral of Iasi was founded by the family of Mr. Sturdza, his presence at this service being a great honor for His Holiness Teofan Savu and the other representatives of Romanian Orthodox Church.
