Prince and Princess Paul were among the only Europeans and between the few non-governmental people invited to attend Nancy Pelosi’s swearing in, thus becoming the President of the Chamber of Representatives.

Pelosi was cheered on open stage, the republicans and democrats rising together to applaud a woman that does not like to be called politician. She is a mother with five children and she ascended gradually, being respected for her simplicity and honesty.

For nineteen years she was in the Congress, where she became friends with Princess Lia, when the Princess was a human rights commissioner. Prince and Princess Paul felt honoured to be invited and present at this event.
