He was a true gentleman.  One who peacefully passed with the honor of having his legitimate role in Eastern European history recognized.  After victories in the Supreme Courts of Portugal and France and later being given an official corrected birth certificate from the Romanian Government, HRH Prince Carol Mircea of Romania was acknowledged as the legitimate first born son from a legal marriage that had been illegally annulled.   In 1919, the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Courts of Bucharest had refused to annul the marriage of the then Crown Prince Carol of Romania and Crown Princess Ioana Valentina, born of the Imperial Byzantine dynasty Rangabe-Lambrino which had two Emperors, a Orthodox Patriarch and St. Paul of Athos as her ancestors.  Another victory for Prince Carol Mircea is that the marriage was ruled to have not been morganatic.  Hence, since his father had never abdicated but fled Romania rather than cooperate with the Nazis, Carol Mircea had his Right of Succession accepted to be considered as an heir to the Throne.  The group of mourners at the London St. Dunston Church ceremony included HRH Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, Lady Colin Campbell and neighbors who joined his widow, Princess Antonia whose grandfather was the Aide de Camp of HM King George VI of England and his loving sons, TRH Princes Paul and Alexander and Orthodox Father Pufuleta to pay their last respects.  After numerous front page stories and television obituaries, many members of the media expressed their opinion that the 86 year old Prince had indeed been the most distinguished, patriotic and modest member of the entire Romanian Royal Family.
