Prince Paul of Romania and Princess Lia, in a private visit in Chisinau

When HRH Prince Paul of Romania makes a promise, he respects that pledge, be it to adults or to children. Last April, in Chisinau, the Royal couple was asked to be Honorary Godparents to 10 orphans. They agreed and their baptism was a joyful event with new clothes, books and toys for them after that important religious ceremony. Every child is special and especially at Christmas time, the Gregorian calendar Old Christmas of 7 January, these adorable youngsters were delighted that Prince Paul and his wife, Princess Lia came just for them with stockings filled with sweets and gifts of new clothes, games, toys and books.

The next day, the glorious Orthodox Cathedral of Chisinau celebrated Christmas mass. The President of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti and his charming wife, Margareta, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Vlad Filat graciously invited the visiting royals to be placed next to them. The next protocol site was the Maternity Hospital where 40 babies and their mothers were presented with baby proof stuffed animals and books. The first birth on Christmas day was triplets for Tatiana who then named them Paul, Lia and Mircea, Jr.

A sentimental highlight was a few moments with Maestro Eugen Doga and his lovely wife, Natasha at their residence.

The trip was culminated with a visit to the residence of IPS Vladimir Mitropolit of Chisinaului and of Moldova who welcomed Their Royal Highnesses, Priest Sergiu Cires, who organized their trip and important businessman Boris Belski with his gifted designer wife, Galyna accompanied by Owner and Editor of “VIP Magazine”, glamorous Rodica Cioranica. The Moldovan press kindly reported the gallantry of “The Prince who keeps his promises” and complemented the princess on her lovely dresses that were creations by Galyna.
