The Obama Presidential Inauguration

The Obama Presidential Inauguration was one of the most dignified and exciting inaugurations that TRH Prince and Princess Paul of Romania have ever been specially invited to. At the bipartisan dinner honoring General Colin Powell, former Secretary of State, the new President, Vice President and the senators from both parties, mixed with Oscar winning directors Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Affleck and Sharon Stone at the exclusive sit down black tie dinner.

In their hotel, Prince Paul mentioned that the most interesting place in Washington was the lobby of the St. Regis. One could see the future CIA director Leon Panetta or the Oscar winner Forrest Whitaker or the members of the new Presidential Cabinet. The Royal couple viewed the star studded Lincoln Memorial concert, seated next to the future Secretaries of Justice, Labor, Energy and the UN Ambassador.
Prince Paul's interview for American television stated that he immediately knew it would be a memorable event because minutes after they arrived, the first person they met was Archbishop Desmond Tutu who greeted them with open arms.  Princess Paul had been the chairperson of the Nobel Peace Prize winner's 17 city American tour, when Mandela was still imprisoned in South Africa. The Royal couple viewed the star studded Lincoln Memorial concert, seated next to the future Secretaries of Justice (photo), Labor, Energy and the UN Ambassador.
